All Change

‘Safely out’

The spaces in which we work play a significant role in the work we make.

I’ve moved to be closer to my beloved sea (North sea coast), but that move will mean a smaller and very different working space.

I’m looking forward to discovering how this will shape what I do. I can definitely imagine more of the collaged work onto cradled boards, and already have a range of these in different sizes prepped. Nothing more exciting than a blank surface waiting for marks!! And being within walking distance of the harbour at Southwold with its hard-working vibe and wonderful mess of colours and massed sea-going equipment forms is a truly invigorating thought.

The North Sea is where I sea-swim all year round in the company of fun-loving adventurous friends. Quite a few pieces of work in the last couple of years have been inspired directly by this sometimes hair-raising, sometimes gloriously peaceful watery environment.
